Meanwhile, Ultrapar Participacoes SA (SA:UGPA3) added 3.57% or 1.69 points to end at 48.99 and Itausa – Investimentos Itau SA (SA:ITSA4) was up 2.57% or 0.31 points to 12.36 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Petroleo Brasileiro SA (SA:PETR3), which fell 4.16% or 1.19 points to trade at 27.40 at the close. Petroleo Brasileiro SA PN (SA:PETR4) declined 3.79% or 0.97 points to end at 24.59 and Cia Paranaense de Energia (SA:CPLE6) was down 3.30% or 1.13 points to 33.07.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 223 to 189 and 26 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.45% to 34.73.
