Brazil stocks higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.47%

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Electric PowerReal Estate and Consumption sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.47%.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were JBS SA (SA:JBSS3), which rose 5.49% or 0.63 points to trade at 12.11 at the close. Meanwhile, Qualicorp SA (SA:QUAL3) added 5.42% or 0.75 points to end at 14.58 and EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) was up 4.38% or 0.41 points to 9.77 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Braskem SA (SA:BRKM5), which fell 3.15% or 1.66 points to trade at 51.00 at the close. Cosan SA Industria e Comercio (SA:CSAN3) declined 2.97% or 1.03 points to end at 33.65 and Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3) was down 2.73% or 0.26 points to 9.27.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 232 to 159 and 37 ended unchanged.
